Weiyang Sound is William Lee’s cross-cultural AI music project, connecting Chinese slow songs, classical poetry, English-language verse and multilingual world music through a cast of 12 virtual singers.
A living sound archive
deserves to travel.
AI is the instrument.
Human choice makes the work.
Weiyang Sound begins with Chinese slow songs and classical verse, then travels into English, French, Esperanto, world music and cross-cultural cinematic sound. It is both a working studio and a living archive that keeps organizing evidence and making boundaries public.
CREATOR STATEMENT · WILLIAM LEE“I do not want to make a song whose purpose is merely to demonstrate AI. I want a song that can enter a car stereo and still invite one more replay after the second listen. AI has given me an orchestra unlike any I could have had before—and almost infinite branches. The human part is knowing why we set out and taking responsibility for every choice.”
Three useful lengths.
Ready to quote.
Use the one-line version for listings and social bios, the standard version for a story opening, and the full background for podcasts, curatorial notes and features. Counts derive from the current public models.
Weiyang Sound is an AI music and cultural-archive project created by William Lee. Its public site organizes 100 Suno works, 200 public versions, 12 virtual singers, 12 continuing series and 77 substantial bilingual music essays, alongside 91 complete MP3 and music-film sets verified on site. The project begins with Chinese slow songs and classical poetry while travelling into English, French, Esperanto, Dream of the Red Chamber character music and world-music collisions.
Weiyang Sound does not set out to prove that AI can write a song. It asks what human choice means after generation becomes abundant: why one version should remain, why a particular voice belongs to a character, and why an old line is still worth singing all the way through. William Lee treats Suno as a studio of many possible players while returning literary experience, listening memory and cultural responsibility to the centre of editing. The public archive currently organizes 100 works, 200 versions, 12 virtual singers with distinct registers and narrative roles, 12 continuing series, 77 substantial Chinese–English long reads and 91 songs that can be heard from first sound to final decay. Chinese classical verse, British and American poetry, Dream of the Red Chamber, Mandarin slow song, Esperanto, French, South Asian cinematic melody and world music meet without losing their names or evidence boundaries.

The Chinese and English editions are 17-page A4 documents with verified facts, creative method, editorial angles, complete recordings, the twelve-singer cast, twelve series, public links and rights boundaries.

Each with an evidence boundary.
These are not campaign slogans. Each angle is traceable to existing works, long reads, series and verified media.
How cultures meet without erasing the seam
Four complete journeys let Mandarin slow song, Yeats and Browning, English, French, Esperanto and five rivers illuminate one another without collapsing source, singer and style into one vague international mood.
Returning classical Chinese poetry to ordinary headphones
Tang poetry, Song lyrics, Yuan drama and Songs of Chu are not wrapped in decorative ‘ancient style’; contemporary slow song, character-led voices and complete films give them time again.
Cross-language poetry music through Yeats and Browning
Original-language singing, Chinese editorial context and South Asian cinematic melody can meet while the poem’s linguistic origin stays visible.
Twelve virtual singers—not twelve genre labels
Tenor, bass, mezzo, soprano and narrative voices keep stable character routes. Cyber is a male tenor, Male Slow a bass; rock is only a style they may enter.
Character and fate before Dream of the Red Chamber style
Qingwen, Daiyu, Baoyu and the garden’s rise and fall are treated as lived character experience rather than interchangeable classical symbols.
Traceable crossings through Esperanto, French and world music
Languages meet a Qixi same-lyric lineage, South Asian, Mediterranean, southwest-borderland and cinematic sound. Exact sources verify 14 recordings by 11 singers with one lyric and parent; 14 recordings by 11 singers now play completely on site. Lin Juyi's Ten Thousand Voices beneath the Stars and Lingwan's Magpie Bridge Air remain distinct new-lyric sister songs. The latter uses Huangmei- and Yue-opera-inspired cues without claiming traditional repertory.
No 45-second false completeness: a song deserves an ending
On-site players appear only for masters verified for duration, file identity and audio–video alignment. Delivery may use a lightweight local copy or a verified site doorway to the identical public source file; an ordinary Suno link or preview never impersonates complete playback.
When a virtual singer leaves classical watersides for the evening commute
Clear Water River moves Dai Amei from classical watersides and borderland imagination into ordinary urban homesickness through an earbud, phone-stored photographs, river lights and tomorrow’s work.
Not a complete poem setting: how four old lines grow into a new song
Lotus Picking at Southern Pond in Autumn places four consecutive Xizhou Qu lines inside a contemporary Dai Amei ballad while separating source lines, graphic variation, adaptation and addition—letting the melody travel without hiding present-day authorship behind an old poem.
How one moon lets Qiang flute and hulusi answer across distance
Frontier Moon does not flatten frontier poetry and Dai-folk colour into decoration. One exact line, two allusions and twenty-eight contemporary positions keep their names, while hulusi answers rather than replaces the Qiang flute.
Why passion does not have to shout to the world
Let the Moon Rest on Your Shoulder turns Breathy Female's hook into a quiet reversal: the more passionate the feeling, the closer it may be sung. Close-mic breath, a clear vocal core and a South Asian slow sway all serve one contemporary Mandarin original.
The light and song remain: how an AI slow song earns a memorable ending
The Dim-Lit Tavern avoids a belted or oversized climax. ‘Until the heart can forgive’, ‘until even tears grow warm’ and its last two lines move unfinished love from hurt toward the possibility of continuing.
Why closer rain can make an absent person feel nearer
Rain by My Ear condenses Breathy Female's character method into listening distance. An umbrella by the door, a photograph between pages and words left unfinished need not become literal reality; when rain draws close, memory briefly sits beside the listener.
How four virtual singers carry one ordinary day to completion
The Nameless does not merely place four voices side by side. Lingwan opens the city at Morning, Mary walks On the Road, Lin Juyi lets ordinary care Rise, and Cyber Tenor carries that light Far Away. With 03A public, all four chapters can be heard in narrative order as the first complete 4 / 4 suite.
More than a song launch: how twelve chapters become three complete Four-Lead narratives
When Lights of the Human World · Sing the Wall Open fills the final gap, all twelve chapters led by Lingwan, Mary, Lin Juyi and Cyber Tenor become fully playable across The Same Beam of Light, Lights of the Human World and The Nameless.
Let instruments answer instead of stacking exotic colour
Silver Bells to the Ganges lets hulusi ask from a bamboo grove and bansuri answer at night. Thirty contemporary lines turn a cross-cultural collision into a relationship one can hear while keeping the Ganges inside imagined geography.
Four audiences.
Four adaptable pitches.
Short proposals for podcasts, culture media, AI-music researchers and international curators use public facts only. Copy and send them under your own identity; this site never impersonates you in external outreach.
Story idea: When AI offers infinite versions, why choose one slow song?
Hello - I would like to suggest Weiyang Sound creator William Lee for a conversation about AI, music and human choice. The project is not a demonstration that “AI can write songs”; it asks why one version, one voice and one old line should remain after generation becomes abundant. Its public media room documents 100 works, 12 virtual singers, 77 bilingual long reads and 91 recordings that can be heard from first sound to final decay. A conversation could begin with Chinese slow song, creative motivation and the project’s character-led vocal cast: https://weiyang-sound.liwei999.chatgpt.site/en/press
Feature lead: Returning classical poetry to ordinary headphones
Hello - Weiyang Sound is developing a long-form poetry-and-music experiment in which Tang and Song verse, Songs of Chu, British and American poetry, and the character destinies of Dream of the Red Chamber enter contemporary slow song, virtual voices and complete music films. The project resists turning those sources into interchangeable “ancient-style” decoration and clearly separates finished work from long-term horizons. Quotable facts, editorial routes and complete listening are available here: https://weiyang-sound.liwei999.chatgpt.site/en/press
Research case: Evidencing 200 AI-music versions and a 12-singer virtual cast
Hello - Weiyang Sound offers a public case study in editing, archiving and responsibility after generation. It currently organizes 100 Suno works, 200 public versions, 12 virtual singers and 12 continuing series; only 91 recordings verified for file identity, duration and audio-video alignment receive complete on-site players. The media room also publishes source fingerprints, unknown fields and boundaries against automatic guessing, supporting discussion of AI-music authorship, character continuity and verifiable archives: https://weiyang-sound.liwei999.chatgpt.site/en/press
Curatorial proposal: Chinese slow song meets Esperanto, French and world music
Hello - Weiyang Sound is a growing cross-language AI-music archive that begins with Chinese slow song and classical Chinese verse, then travels through English, French, Esperanto, South Asian cinematic melody and multilingual music films. Its twelve virtual singers keep stable registers and narrative routes: Cyber is a male tenor, while rock is a style he may enter rather than a singer identity. The English media room, complete recordings and series routes are available for curatorial review: https://weiyang-sound.liwei999.chatgpt.site/en/press
