The tree stayed; I still have the key.
Mandarin · orchestral ballad · erhu, pipa and bamboo dizi · 72 BPM
The tree by the door is taller than remembered. It knows everything and says nothing. Childhood play beneath it and grandmother sitting on the doorstep let its silence hold a whole summer.
On last year’s visit, the tree was still standing, but the door was locked and the speaker still held the key. The bridge says the tree does not leave while people have gone. It invents no destination for them; it leaves the gap between human and material time intact.
The creative direction sets a 72 BPM pentatonic-major sway. Erhu introduces the chorus, with pipa, bamboo dizi, yangqin and guzheng answering the voice; strings and steady drums deepen each return. Plain words meet broad orchestration, giving memory weight without adding a biography.
