I'm Fine, I'm Fine|@liwei · 水彩乡村音乐 MV
Inside the song and film
“I'm fine, I'm fine” grows less convincing each time it returns. A wave at the station, the drive home with open windows, a coffee cup kept and finally put away remember what the speaker cannot say. Pedal steel and fiddle lengthen the sighs of this slow country song; the restrained female voice leaves room for grief rather than declaring it. Watercolor and colored pencil stay with the ordinary objects. When the second verse arrives, composure loosens: one small room holds a whole life after goodbye.

[Verse 1] I didn't cry at the station I waved the way you do I drove back with the windows down and the radio playing through [Chorus] And I'm fine, and I'm fine is a thing that you can say until the second verse comes round and takes it all away [Verse 2] I kept your coffee cup a while then put it with the rest there's nothing in this house of mine that isn't doing its best
