Time to talk on the other side of the bridge.
Mandarin Jiangnan chamber-folk direction · dizi, pipa and Wu-song colour
Walking the long street into evening, the narrator fears returning unseen. The chorus sends a wish for slow conversation toward the bridge. Boat and umbrella echo a wait left behind; reunion is the lyric's wish, not evidence of a documented journey.
The Jiangnan chamber-folk direction uses dizi, gently plucked pipa, soft piano, warm cello and restrained strings beneath a graceful female register with subtle Wu-song inflection. It explicitly specifies Mandarin singing; Wu-song colour is not a Wu-language tag.
