The road turns; hoofprints remain in the snow.
English classical-farewell words · Japanese min’yo instrumental brief
The north wind whitens grass, and sudden late-summer snow resembles trees full of pear blossom. After farewell wine in the camp, Luntai’s east gate and the snowy Tianshan road lead a friend away. The road turns, the friend disappears, and the ending returns to the horse’s trail: a vast landscape narrows to one small trace.
The public Japanese min’yo brief imagines Tsugaru shamisen, shakuhachi, koto, drums and a weathered male voice in flexible phrases. The published words are English, not Japanese. Enter through the contrast between a person no longer visible and a trace still present as classical imagery meets another instrumental language.
