It did not stay; it still counted as snow.

English chamber-folk direction · glass harmonica, viola and no percussion

Snow vanishes on contact and morning carries on. The refrain says that things which arrive without staying still count, then gently addresses a person. No reason for departure is supplied, and there is no demand to let go immediately.

The 58 BPM chamber-folk direction leaves percussion out, pairing nylon guitar, viola, glass harmonica and distant organ pedal. Cool straight-tone voice is a style specification. Sparse instrumental gaps let disappearance and a real arrival coexist.

[Verse 1] It snowed but it did not settle it touched and it was gone the street stayed black, the roofs stayed grey and the morning carried on [Chorus] Some things arrive and do not stay and still they count as snow some things arrive and do not stay and you were one, I know [Verse 2] I stood there with my hand out the way a child would do and every flake that came to me came down and came through
