A red candle, wutong leaves and empty steps hold separation in returning rain.

Leaf by leaf and sound by sound, rain counts the night towards dawn.
Chinese classical-text song brief · Lingwan and night-rain guqin
Light in the painted hall does not remove the cold pillow, and rain knows nothing of painful separation. Returning leaves and sounds make the long night more than a duration: someone listens at empty steps until dawn. The added refrain develops candlelight and rain without being labelled wholly as the classical original.
The public late-Tang night-rain brief proposes Lingwan’s clear voice with guqin, pipa and soft strings in an intimate autumn setting. Reprise and instrumental passage leave different pauses within one rain. Arrangement instructions remain a concept rather than completed listening assessment.
