Different waters toward the same sea.

Broad English duet direction · bansuri, sitar and tabla

Alternating claims of “mine” give the currents something like two voices: cold and hurried, brown and slow. Fear of losing name and colour meets a refrain where the two can no longer be separated. It can be read as a relationship metaphor while leaving space for actual rivers.

The broad 78 BPM ballad direction lets female alto and low male voice answer line by line, then join in the chorus, with bansuri, sitar shimmer and tabla. English words and South Asian instrumental colour remain distinct; no real location or people are assigned to the story.

[Verse 1] Mine comes down out of the hills cold and in a hurry Mine comes slow across the plain brown and full of everything [Pre-Chorus] And we have been coming here since before there was a town [Chorus] Below the bridge we meet and nobody can tell you after which of us is which which of us is which below the bridge we meet [Verse 2] I thought I would lose my name I thought I would lose my colour and we go out to the sea as one and the sea takes all of it [Pre-Chorus] And we have been coming here since before there was a town [Chorus] Below the bridge we meet and nobody can tell you after which of us is which which of us is which below the bridge we meet
