The outer circle has a rhythm too.
6/8 ballad direction · guitar and castanets · a dance of one’s own
The lyric’s narrator stands outside the clapping circle without losing a dance of her own. Told to sit down, she once did so for years. Now a skirt turns into a circle; dancing need not wait for a partner or the square’s approval.
This source’s arrangement brief uses an unhurried 6/8 sway, guitar and dry castanets. The paving eventually cools while the narrator keeps her warmth. Rules about age can step back for a moment: movement itself can be an answer.
