Light narrows to a circle; unfinished words stay in a hand held a little tighter.

Big-band-ballad direction · muted trumpet and a last slow dance

Tables are cleared while two people dance politely without meeting each other’s eyes. A hand tightening slightly becomes the whole answer. This farewell does not demand an explanation of loss, only the wish that each person fares well after dawn.

The public big-band-ballad direction places muted trumpet, piano, walking bass and strings around hushed Chinese storytelling. The 1950s is a vintage-production reference, not this recording’s historical date. Slow swing leaves a little warmth after closing.

[Outro] (strings resolve, room fades)
