The first half contrasts pleasures in different circumstances; the second moves into a repeated call home. That return belongs to this recording’s text, not an instruction to duplicate the preceding chapter. The two chapters retain separate identities and endings.

The brief names a lilting 6/8 and a meeting of plucked pipa with sustained xiao phrases. Six smaller pulses can group in two sets of three; that is not automatically a three-beat waltz. Follow the call across the sway without certifying live instruments.

Six-eight need not feel like six equally strong beats. Try two gentle sways around the call, comparing fading attacks with sustained sounds without identifying every part.

In 6/8 a bar holds six eighth-note values, normally grouped three plus three: ONE-two-three, FOUR-five-six. In 3/4 there are normally three beats, each divided in two, so the metres differ. 6/8 specifies neither tempo nor every swaying feel. A source label is a clue, not a measured time signature for this recording.

Try listening: Before following the music, say “ONE-two-three, FOUR-five-six” and tap only ONE and FOUR. Then ask whether those beats fit naturally; if not, set the counting aside.

而山林遁世之士，雖荒惑敗亂如酒者，猶不能爲害，而況於鶴乎？

乃作放鶴、招鶴之歌曰：「鶴飛去兮西山之缺，高翔而下覽兮擇所適。

鶴歸來兮東山之陰。
其下有人兮，黃冠草履，葛衣而鼓琴。
