One more corner, and the evening stays. Creative direction: folk with jazz influences · a turn between five and fourWhat do these music words mean? ↓
The moon turns first, then a tune follows it around the tea stall. A wish to look a little longer postpones arrival. The bridge stops the song before strings and breath begin again: a corner can be a place to wait as well as a change of road.
The brief explicitly requests 5/4 verses grouped 3+2 and a 4/4 chorus. Away from the music, try three taps plus two, then four even taps. The grouping changes, not merely speed or a missing beat. Whether the recording fulfils that change remains a listening question.
Remember a small turning tune, then compare beat groupings in verse and chorus. Counting notes in a motif differs from counting beats in a bar.
Metre · grouping beats, not counting words · a little more Metre organises beats into recurring patterns of relative emphasis. In quarter-note examples, 3/4 gives three beats per bar, 4/4 four and 5/4 five; five can group as 3+2, but not only that way. Six-eight usually groups six eighth notes into two threes, and twelve-eight into four threes. Grouping the smaller units of seven-eight depends on the piece. A time signature specifies neither tempo nor syllable count.
Try listening: Away from the recording, try cycles of three and four beats, then the longer and shorter groups suggested for the work. Set counting aside if it does not fit; a creative brief is not a compulsory answer.

It is not a psychological motive or a whole chorus. A motif requested in a brief is not a motif already identified in the recording.
Try listening: Remember a small shape or rhythm. Does it return, change voice or develop? Not every repetition needs that label.

[Verse 1]
[Chorus]
[Chorus]
[Instrumental Interlude]
[Bridge]
[Final Chorus]
[Instrumental Outro]
