With warm soy milk, morning recognises itself.
Mandarin chamber-folk direction · a soy-milk stall and a street’s memory
A twenty-year soy-milk stall becomes a street’s memory. After moving away, the narrator discovers that the missing ingredient is the person who was always there. When she serves sitting after a fall, no one hurries her. Care is answered by others slowing down.
The Mandarin-folk brief approaches Balkan-coloured chamber pop through fingerpicked guitar, frame drum, dizi and an accordion fragment. The title’s persistence is not a rule against rest. Hear lasting company while leaving a chair for the person who cares for others.
